21-24 марта 2019 г. в Денвере, Колорадо, США, состоится ежегодная конференция Ассоциации азиатских исследований (Association for Asian Studies, AAS). Это один из крупнейших, а возможно и самый крупный в мире ежегодный англоязычный форум в области востоковедения, а если точнее, то его проблематика сосредоточена на следующих регионах: Китай и Внутренняя Азия, Северо-Восточная Азия, Южная Азия и Юго-Восточная Азия.

Как следует из программы, в этом году на конференции будут представлены 394 секции, в работе которых примут участие свыше 1000 докладчиков и дискуссантов из США, Канады и некоторых университетов Европы, Австралии и Азии, в т.ч. из Китая, Сингапура, Гонконга, Японии, Индии, Пакистана, Иерусалима и др. Среди докладчиков несколько ученых из России.

Это научная, неполитическая, некоммерческая профессиональная ассоциация, открытая для всех, кто интересуется Азией и изучением Азии. AAS имеет около 7 тысяч членов по всему миру и является крупнейшей организацией такого рода.

На нашем сайте РАУК представлена еще одна сторона деятельности AAS – Библиография азиатских исследований (The Bibliography of Asian Studies, сокр. BAS).

Это единственная в своем роде и наиболее полная на сегодня в мире (ок. 900,000 библиографических справок по данным на лето 2018 г.) электронная база данных по опубликованной исследовательской литературе по Восточной, Юго-Восточной и Южной Азии в основном на английском, но также и на некоторых других европейских языках. Доступна он-лайн по подписке.
